Frequently Asked Questions

Recovery Specialists of America has conducted an exhaustive search and identified unclaimed property that we believe belongs to you.

Unclaimed property encompasses various types of assets held by financial institutions, companies, or other entities that have not been claimed by their rightful owner.  Some of the most common origins of unclaimed property include:

  • Crime Victim Restitutions
  • Failed Bank Deposits
  • HUD/FHA Refunds
  • Royalty Payments
  • Matured or Terminated Insurance Policies
  • Outstanding or Stale-dated Checks
  • Uncashed Death Benefits
  • Uncashed Money Orders
  • Uncashed Payroll Checks
  • Unclaimed Inheritances
  • Unclaimed Utility Deposits
  • Dormant Savings and Checking Accounts
  • Unknown Trust Funds

There are numerous possible explanations.  The vast majority of our clients are unaware they have assets waiting to be claimed.  Maybe you moved without leaving a forwarding address, or the forwarding order expired. Possibly your money went missing after a clerical mistake. Maybe a decedent’s property was unclaimed.

Reclaiming what is rightfully yours is possible even though it is very challenging. Locating the right agency and progressing through the claims step is often an irritating maze. Many claims are simple denials that could be corrected with minimal effort. Our experts navigate the ins and outs of the system, managing every detail to give your claim the greatest chance of success, with no headaches.

Before we reach out to you, we’ve already spent money obtaining, converting, editing, and researching unclaimed property databases. This research is both time-consuming and expensive, and it’s done entirely at our own expense.  After locating the unclaimed funds, we had the additional expense of tracking and contacting you. This is difficult and expensive work as well.  The name of the agency will be revealed once the Agreement is signed and returned. However, we’ll disclose immediately the approximate value of the money so you have as much information as you’ll need to make an informed decision.

Our Client Agreement spells out the exact terms and conditions under which we’ll work to recover your unclaimed property and describes how we’ll split the money if your claim is successful. It’s clear and straightforward with no small print or confusing legalese.

The claim process varies. Most claims are approved and paid within 30 to 120 days.

Disbursements are always made payable and mailed directly to our clients and never to Recovery Specialists of America. The exception to this is California.

Clients will appreciate our contingency-based service model, eliminating the need for upfront payments. With this financial arrangement, you only pay upon successful recovery of your assets. It’s a risk-free approach to asset recovery.

On our databases, there are individuals, large corporations, small corporations, LLCs, deceased persons, police departments, law firms, hospitals, physicians, trustees, government agencies, banks, title companies, insurance companies, private organizations, and many more.

Recovery Specialists of America stands out for its superior client service, its asset recovery database, and the ability to minimize client effort in the recovery process. Our approach makes us the right fit for you.

Our Service Agreement spells out the exact terms and conditions under which we’ll work to recover your unclaimed property and describes how much you will be invoiced once the funds are distributed to you. It’s clear and straightforward with no small print or confusing legalese.

Recovery Specialists of America does not require any personal information to begin the process. However, we are prepared to assist you with the completion of the claims form should you choose.
